For International students, the institution method matches their needs because the school provides potential Canadian experience and academic practice.
The credibility of BCIT is known among the Canadian employers, this is one of the strongest reasons for students choose the institution.
This week, the Business development coordinator from BCIT gave the students a campus tour to show the facilities and the infrastructure that is provided to the students. Among all of those, students can have 24/7 access of studies classroom, as well as free access to the gym and sports facilities with free classes of Yoga, Zumba, Spinning and much more.
BCIT method of learning is based on group projects, presentations and in class practices, which allows the students to be more proactive in classes and work in teams at all times.
The part-time classes are getting more popular among International students, due to the flexibility of class schedules and different intakes throughout the year (January, April, September). However, the amount of effort and projects that they are assigned to is as intensive as full time studies. Also, part time classes have short in class time, so the pace is designed to be even more intensive. Domestic students are taking the same classes as well, which help international students to improve their english skills.
The registration for January Part time intake starts October 26th. For Full time studies, depending on the seats availability, the registration goes until March 31st.
Take a look of the pictures from the Campus Tour and discovery the facilities that BCIT provides:

Going travelling? In between partying and sightseeing selfies, there are plenty of ways to add value to your CV without shelling out

1. Study abroad

Studying abroad, even briefly, is an awesome way to see the non-touristy side of a new country whilst adding valuable international study experience to your resume. Be careful to check if you’re applicable though – many are only open to current students or recent graduates. Sob.

2. Get volunteering

According to a recent survey by TimeBank, 73% of employers would employ a candidate with volunteer experience over one without, so it really pays to factor in some volunteering on your travels. 3. Learn a language

Learning a foreign language, even to a basic level, can really add something extra to your CV and is a brilliant way to fully immerse yourself in a new culture on your travels. A good hack is to learn a language in a place where living costs are lower – so instead of learning Spanish in Spain, head to Guatemala.

4. Get work experience

Working in a foreign country is a great way to make a bit of money to pay for your onward travels. The Erasmus+ scheme at university doesn’t just fund study abroad but you can also use the scheme up to one year after you’ve graduated to get a grant to work abroad in a European country too.

5. Teach

Whether you want a teaching career or not, teaching still adds loads of impressive skills to your CV, such as communication, teamwork skills and your ability to work in a foreign country. One of the easiest ways is to take a short TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course, which will gives you the skills to teach english in language schools all around the world.

Kim Okran ISC in Brazil!

Kim Okran International Studies Centre was in Brazil to hold two Info sessions in the Northern part of the country. The Info Sessions talked about study & work in Canada, as well as Immigration & study. These topics have been very popular among Brazilians and other nationalities due to recent changes in the immigration law and temporary permanency in the country. The new rules are giving more opportunities for those who want to have a post secondary education in Canada and combine it with a work experience.

Beside this fact, two other reasons are attracting Brazilians’ attention. First, students are looking for a work experience to build their savings in Canada and later convert this money into Real when go back to Brazil. Also, they want to have a relevant work experience and improvement of their English skills, as more and more employers in the country are strongly requiring this asset.
Second reason is that Canada is still among other countries, the cheapest one to invest in an international experience, as well as the cheapest cost of leaving.
Kim Okran assists not only students that are currently in Vancouver or Toronto, but also the students in Brazil. All the process of admissions in the ESL School or Post Secondary Institution have the support of our Brazilian counselor, as well as visa process by our Visa Consultant.
Thank you for all the students that attended those Info Session in Brazil!

4. Students go directly to the University once finished with their ESL studies.
5. Before the students apply to the Pathway Program, they are submit an English test in
order to estimates how long it will take before they can go to university.
VGC and KAPLAN are the only ESL schools that have a Pathway program agreement with
BCIT.
Some differences between KAPLAN and VGC
At VGC students who reach the last English level transfer to the BCIT english program called

Question: I was a Registered, professional nurse in my country, but now I live here in Canada. What can I do to work as a nurse in Canada?

Question: I was a Registered, professional nurse in my country, but now I live here in Canada. What can I do to work as a nurse in Canada?

Typically, Canada is fairly strict. It usually does not accept graduates from foreign nursing

schools, or allow foreign nurses to work at hospitals in Canada. Therefore, you will have to go

back to school, and graduate from Canadian university or college nursing program to work as a

nurse in British Columbia.

So what is the fastest way to get back to work?

If you already have a BA from a well established university in your country, and were a practicing,

professional Registered Nurse (or equivalent) at a professional hospital or nursing clinic in your

country, you have the option of going back to school in Vancouver.

You will do this to prepare for the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination. If you pass the

Registered Nurse Examination, you could be allowed to work as a nurse in Canada!

We recommend the Canadian RN Examination prep course at MTI Community College!

In addition to preparing you for the Canadian RN Examination, 8 out of 10 graduates find jobs. In

fact, many practicing nurses in clinic and hospitals around Vancouver have graduated from the

MTI Canadian RN Examination preparation course. Please contact Kim Okran for details!

Early Childhood Education at MTI

If you like working with, and educating young children, MTI also has a popular Early Childhood

Education course. The EC course is offered in all MTI Campuses and has a high employment

rate. In fact, it is so popular they have open new classrooms for enrolees each year! You might

want to consider, the 1year General EC Course or the 2year special needs course; this course

focuses on educating and helping Infants, Toddlers and Children with Special Needs.

Would you like to know more about MTI; and the Nursing or Early Childhood Education Courses?
